My first blog

So here goes my first attempt at blogging. I should find it easy being a bit of a social media junkie but even just thinking about what my first subject should  be has proved a challenge. Moving on I intend this not only to be a  journal for my photography, but also a source of helpful hints and  tips for anyone looking at booking a photographer. For  now though I think a good place to start is probably a bit of an introduction to me and my work.

I live in the beautiful coastal town of Whitstable in East Kent  with my border terrier Tag and  husband Darren. I am also a horse lover and own a beautiful thoroughbred mare Pearl. It was my love of animals that really started me on my journey of my other great passion, photography. About 6 years ago, after doing a  couple of training courses with probably the UKs leading dog photographer Andy Biggar, I set up my dog and equine photography business.

At this time it was never my intention to move into wedding photography, I was loving what I was doing. In fact the first few times I was asked by friends to capture their weddings I declined. But gradually I started to change my mind. I knew if I was going to do it I had to approach it whole heartedly, the way I had approached  my pet photography, by training with those I considered to be the best. This saw me heading around the country, Yorkshire, Bournemouth and London to name a few.

My style today combines the very natural with the artistic to bring my clients a full range of shots for their magical day. I  use top end, high performing camera and lenses to ensure optimum quality on the images. In addition I carry a range of lighting equipment and up to date modifiers to provide my clients with those beautiful artistic shots for which I am becoming known.
